What is Pelvic Floor Dysfunction?
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, or “PFD” is a condition in which a person has difficulty coordinating and/or controlling their pelvic floor muscles. PFD affects many women and men, especially as a result of pregnancy, childbirth, trauma such as a fall, car accident or sexual abuse, surgery, obesity, or other pelvic conditions including endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, or pelvic organ prolapse.
Dr. Wrigley is highly dedicated and compassionate when it comes to women’s health issues. Along with her prior experience in treating pelvic floor conditions, and working with pregnant and postpartum patients in their most vulnerable moments, Dr. Wrigley understands the sensitivity and care that must be taken in handling such cases.
